Curtis Door Systems Inc. has been designing, manufacturing and commissioning door systems for trains since, 1999. Previously, our organization was known as SMC Transit International (1987–1999). Our team of experienced and innovative engineers specialize in the development of door systems for the transit industry. Using the latest technology and innovation  we can create door systems that are unique in design and operation. Using this technology we can also maintain door systems, acquired by our company, dating back to 1987. We are dedicated to supporting our customers from initial concept design through the service life of each door system.

Curtis Door Systems signs contract with Bombardier for TTC's new "Rocket" subway cars

Curtis Door Systems proudly announced that it has signed a contract for the supply of Door Systems and Controls, Detrainment Ramps, Side, Cab and Partition Door Panels for 234 new subway cars (39 six-car trainsets) for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). In addition of the base contract, TTC has also opted to purchase spares and additional equipment with further options that could total up to 408 cars in total. 

Manufacturing and final assembly of the equipment will be carried out at Curtis Door Systems production facilities in Plattsburgh, NY and La Prairie, Quebec.  Delivery of the equipment is scheduled to take place between 2008 and 2011.

The TTC “Rocket Project” is the largest project ever awarded to Curtis Door Systems in its history and reinforces our position in the industry.

 

Curtis Door Systems Awarded Dubai Project

Curtis Door Systems Inc. announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Japanese Carbuilder Hitachi Rail for the Dubai Monorail project. The contract is to supply the door system for 12 vehicles as an initial contract however, is sighted as a long term partnership with Hitachi Rail for future Monorail projects.

The Customer Nakheel, is one of Dubai's largest developers, and is currently planning the development  of  The Palm Jumeirah Island and other major resort islands, such as The Palm Jebel Ali, The Palm Deira and the Waterfront.

Curtis Door System has successfully been providing Door Systems to the Transit Industry for more than 20 years and has its global headquarters in Plattsburgh, New York with a presence in multiple countries. Curtis Door Systems signs Contract with Bombardier for Vancouver Skytrain and Kuala Lumpur

Curtis Door Systems proudly announced that it has signed 2 contracts for the supply of 34 Carsets of Door Systems and Door Panels for the Vancouver Skytrain and 88 Carsets of Door Systems and Platform Door Interface (PDI) for Kuala Lumpur. In addition of the base contract, Kuala Lumpur has additional options that could bring the total up to 140 Carsets

Manufacturing and final assembly of the equipment will be carried out at Curtis Door Systems production facilities in Plattsburgh, NY and La Prairie, Quebec. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled to take place between 2007 and 2009.
